Call for Abstract

Travel Awards

Graduate-level trainees, post-doctoral trainees, or junior faculty members (defined for this purpose as non-tenure-track faculty or tenure-track for less than three years) are eligible to receive a travel award. Abstracts of eligible authors requesting to be considered for travel awards will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee and International Program Committee, excluding any committee members who may have a conflict of interest. The Organizing Committee and International Program Committee will select a limited number of abstracts for receipt of travel awards of 100,000 Japanese yen each, depending on available funds. Evaluation of abstracts for travel awards will be based on a combination of innovation of the project, scientific rigor of the approach, financial need (lack of other funding to enable attendance), and voluntarily self-reported membership in a traditionally underrepresented group. It is important to understand that financial need and voluntarily reported membership in an underrepresented group are only two of the factors considered.

INTERNATIONAL TSC RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2018.

General Guidelines for Abstract Submission

Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentations. Authors are asked to advise their preference; however, the decision of which abstracts to select for oral presentation is the responsibility of the Congress Scientific Committee.

Abstracts must be submitted via the Congress website. Only abstracts submitted via the online submission form will be sent to the Abstract Review Committee for review. Abstracts submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.

All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English.

Abstracts must be original but it will be allowed to submit even if it has been published.

Presenting authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by the Early Registration Deadline will be scheduled for presentation and included for publication.

Your abstract is not successfully submitted until you receive a confirmation e-mail after clicking the final submit button. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact itscrc2018@k-con.co.jp

Submitting Your Abstract

  1. Please prepare the file of application in Microsoft Word format (*.doc or *.docx).
  2. The file of application contains:
    • 1) Application for Oral/Poster
    • 2) Title
    • 3) Presenter(s) (Please asterisk first author among the presenters)
    • 4) Affiliation(s)
    • 5) The sbstract should be structured with the subheadings Objectives, Method, Results and Conclusions.
    • 6) The abstract are within 350 words including spaces but not including the title, authors, and institutions.
  3. Abstracts must be allocated to a specific topic for the Scientific Program. Please choose from the list of topics
    • Molecular and/or genetic insights into pathogenesis and/or treatment of TSC disease manifestations
    • Early diagnosis and treatment of TSC disease manifestations
    • mTOR inhibitor treatment of TSC disease manifestations
    • Prevention strategies for treatment of TSC disease manifestations
    • Addressing practical barriers to delivering recommended clinical care
    • Identification and alleviating the psychosocial burdens of TSC
    • Translating research into improvements in care and outcomes
  4. When your application is adopted, the summary will be printed in the abstracts and the Meeting Records.
  5. Oral presentation time will be 15 minutes for presentation and discussions.
  6. For the Poster presentation, attachment space is 90cm×180cm, and for headline including title, your name(s) and affiliation(s) is 20cm×60cm.
  7. Submission period will be from May 15, 2018 to June 30, 2018. 10 July 2018
  8. Notification of acceptance of the abstract will be made via E-mail by July 17, 2018
